I'm so excited to get to introduce a project that is very near and dear to my heart… (drumroll)

This is an idea that my friend, Emma Carter, has had all of her life and I am so lucky to have been asked to partner with her in the creation of it! Emma is pretty amazing- she is a hair and makeup pro and has worked all over the globe with some pretty amazing people (read more about her here).

Together, we have designed Beam School as a collection of classes that give girls and women hands on guidance from real style pros. It is where women of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the surrounding areas will have the opportunity to learn the latest, as well as the tried and trusted, when it comes to health, beauty and style.

The name Beam School comes from the idea that in order to be the best version of myself I must BE (who I) AM. And when I am my true self, I naturally radiate my authenticity out into the world!

Now you’re probably wondering what our first class is all about!?! We have chosen our premier class to focus on girls ages 12-15. This is an age group that is near and dear to our hearts for many reasons and we want to give these girls skills that will last a lifetime. In a nutshell here's what they will learn....

Your girls will have an opportunity to learn and practice personal care and grooming.
They will discover their own style, build self esteem, pick out appropriate clothing.
They will be shown the best practices regarding social media and the influence (real vs. fake) of mass media.
They will practice kindness, acceptance of self, and acceptance of others.
They will learn basic social graces like thank you notes, table settings, a good handshake, eye contact, and more.
They will be coached on health and well being.
